R. Robinson (Robby) Harris became a Lockheed Martin Corporation corporate member of the Council in
1999. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees in 2004. He served as Acting President of the
Council 2021-2022. He retired from the U. S. Navy in 1998. While in the U. S. Navy he commanded USS
CONOLLY (DD 979) and Destroyer Squadron 32 with operations the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Black Sea,
and Persian Gulf. He conducted the first post-Cold War ship visit to Russia in 1992. Ashore he
specialized in strategy development both on the Navy Staff and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also served as Navy Liaison to the U. S. Congress. He is the author of numerous articles. After Navy service he served for 25 years with Lockheed Martin Corporation in strategic planning. He coordinates a strategy seminar in Washington, D.C.
